From thriller and suspense master Brett Battles comes Pale Horse, the third book in the Project Eden thriller series.

And I looked, and behold a pale horse;
and his name that sat on him was Death,
and Hell followed with him.
—Revelations 68

A simple push of a button and the world will never be the same.

Martina Gable returns home from college to spend Christmas break with her family, but the relaxing vacation she expects is not even close to what she'll get.

Sanjay, a young man in Mumbai who knows more than he should about Project Eden’s plan, will do whatever he can to keep Kusum, the girl he loves, alive and safe.

A boy named Brandon Ash runs for his life in the hills of Montana, wanting only to see his family again.

But first there is Daniel, the boy’s father, who watches Olivia Silva’s finger hover over the enter key that will decide the fate of humanity.

Do you think you’re safe?

Pale Horse is part of the Project Eden continuing sage, which is best read after completing volumes 1 and 2 (Sick and Exit 9)

Praise for the Project Eden Thrillers

“Sick didn’t just hook me. It hit me with a devastating uppercut on every primal level—as a parent, a father, and a human being.” — Blake Crouch, author of Run

“…a gem of an outbreak story that unfolds like a thriller movie and never lets up, all the way to the last page. Absolutely my favorite kind of story!” — John Maberry, New York Times bestselling author

“…not only grabs you by the throat, but by the heart and gut as well, and by the time you finish you feel as if you've just taken a runaway train through dangerous territory. Buy these books now. You won't regret it.”—Robert Browne, best selling author of Trial Junkies

“You think Battles was badass before? He just cranked it up to 500 joules. CLEAR!”—PopCultureNerd.com

“Brett Battles at his best, a thriller that also chills, with a secret at its core that's almost too scary to be contained within the covers of a book.” — Tim Hallinan, author of the Edgar-nominated The Queen of Patpong

Pale Horse A Project Eden Thriller Book 3 eBook Brett Battles

This book picks up immediately where EXIT 9 left off and covers just the next two days - the first two days of the Apocalypse. Another global tale, yet Battles also manages to weave in three distinct families - the Ashes, obviously, but also one in India and one that we met during SICK - to make this tale both global and personal. The countdown isn't as effective in this book as it was in EXIT 9, but the overall tale is arguably a bit stronger even without it, due to giving an even wider global scale while also making it, as noted, so intensely personal. The very last paragraph, well... Excellent book, and looking forward to diving straight into ASHES.

Pale Horse A Project Eden Thriller Book 3 eBook Brett Battles Reviews

Omg sooo addicting and can't put these damn books down! Ive done nothing but read for the last two days! Ill take a break and start on the 4th in a couple hours.
Pale Horse is book 3 of 4 by Brett Battles of the Project Eden Thrillers. I purchased all 4 for my . All 3 have been a thrill ride for me, not being able to stop reading them. They're a little bit Dean Koontz/Michael Crichton style. They are your classic good versus evil, world domination, greed, power, airborne viruses, sickness, death, and a heart-warming base to keep it all grounded. If you love drama, action, nail-biting suspense, and a family's bond, you'll love the Project Eden Thrillers. I've finished the first 3 books and am now reading the last one, Ashes.
The Project Eden books do not end. They are updates to an ongoing story, very much like a soap opera, only sinister in nature. There are quite a few characters to keep up with. But that's okay. You absolutely have to start with the first book ("Sick") and work your way forward.

I get a bit peeved when I have to wait for the next segment to come out. Battles just isn't writing fast enough to suit me. When it does come out, I read it straight through. And there I am again. Waiting. But the series is worth it.
I had no problem giving five stars to both of the first two books in this series. I am not sure that this one really deserves four. I am going to give book three the benefit of the doubt here.
When we finish book two we are on edge as to the outcome . Very quickly we find out what has happened. I was a bit disappointed as the author used the entire third book as a recap of the events and to catch up on the cast of characters. I thought he could have done so much quicker and started to let us know where he was going with the story itself.
So, giving him the benefit of the doubt I am diving into the next installment with the clear hope of seeing a whole lot more substance and a whole lot less review.
We will see as I am beginning to wonder whether even he knows where this whole thing is going.
I am enjoying this whole series. The books are easy reading and a bit short for the price. The fact that the books are "science fiction" but well within the relm of possibility makes them all the more interesting. The characters are well developed, and even though I constantly want to slap Josie, she is a typical teen. There are 7 books to this series, and every time I buy one I cringe over the price. It's not that $4.99 is a huge amount, but the books are too short for the price. But the story is worth reading, so I keep paying.
I know Brett Battles is well known for his "Quinn" series, and my sister loves those books. But I love the "Andromeda Strain" type sci/fi and this was right up my alley.
I started with SICK, and I thought the characters' narration was a bit stiff and stereotyped. However, the content was interesting, gripping, and fast paced. Each book got better, and the characters quickly developed more and realistic depth as the stories progressed. I kind of got addicted - since I couldn't get the books from my county library I had to buy the first one (SICK), the ended up getting the free computer "" and compulsively buying the sequels!
Pretty well researched (I'm picky, as a biochemist), and I was very satisfied with how the story progressed and ended. DEFINITELY will read anything else Mr. Battles writes in this strain (pun intended) that he writes in the future.
The plot is an interesting one, reminiscent of Tom Clancy's "Rainbow Six." Adventist globalist conspiracy to kill off most of the Earth's inhabitants, to make an environmental Paradise. This is the third book in the series. I got through the first two despite finding several of the main characters wildly inconsistent. They would be cold-bloodedly calculating in one moment, and emotionally out of control, just when we calm and calculation were needed. Perhaps one or two characters might be bipolar, but this seems to happen to every single one of the main characters, the main protagonists. About the 15th time I found myself shouting "Seriously? You choose this particular moment to act like someone with a hormone imbalance?"I understand that people in times of crisis can act irrationally. But the protagonist in the series only seem to do it when the action is lagging. I would love to find out how the author solves all of the riddles and twists in this plot, but I feel as if I'm being manipulated along the way, and I just can't take it anymore.
